This is a busy week in the coach life for me. We are wrapping up our New Year, New You group and will start adding new people to the Made to Crave group, which starts on the 29th. Life just never seems to slow down…
But one thing I have found to be true, is that when you are right in the sweet spot between talent and passion, work doesn’t seem like work at all. Know what I mean?
I remember the days of homeschooling my boys. I signed up to tutor my oldest son’s class, merely for selfish reasons… no one else would do it! I figured, “If I’m going to do it for my kid, I might as well do it for a few more and make a little money!” I soon fell in love with learning and teaching, mentoring and leading. For 10 years, it was like a dream, coming alongside parents and students, sharing our struggles and victories in the journey. My heart and mind were on fire for more. I totally would have done it even if I didn’t get paid.
Funny thing is, teaching was never on my “life goal” list. This introvert much prefers working anonymously behind the scenes. But God placed it in front of me. Unequipped, but willing to trust Him, I jumped in. Work was no longer a ‘job.’ It was a calling.
I’m in a new season now, and I was fortunate to have the coaching opportunity presented to me during that transition in my life. I started out because I loved the program, I had great results, and I wanted to share it with my friends. I figured, “I’m going to do it anyway. If I make a little money at it, that’s a bonus.” Once again, I was not equipped, but was willing to learn. I was willing to “Jump, and learn how to fly on the way down,” as John Maxwell says. I love to help people achieve their maximum potential. There is nothing like seeing someone “get it” and run with it….whether it’s translating Latin, or loving the skin they’re in. This coaching biz is more than a business to me. It’s my passion and calling to help women unlock the doors to wholehearted living.
Today is the beginning of anything you want it to be, friends. We can’t control everything in our lives, but we sure can choose how we interact with it.
So tell me, what is your beginning today?
