Yesterday, my husband and I started on a 60 day commitment to complete the Master’s Hammer and Chisel program. I honestly hadn’t read up on the program ahead of time, but it just seemed like a good fit for us. We didn’t get up as early as we planned, and we didn’t workout when we expected, but eventually we did it, and we didn’t die!

It was actually very enjoyable to work out together and all day long we were reflecting on how great it was to start our day out that way. I know this program is designed to sculpt and build muscle – that’s why I picked it. So even though I am still about 20 lbs from my goal weight, I am going to put the scale away and trust the process. (pinky swear)

The numbers on the scale only measure one small aspect of your health: the force of gravity on your body. It doesn’t know how much of that is muscle or whether your gut is flourishing and healthy. It’s doesn’t tell you whether your hydrated, well-rested or feeling optimistic and confident!

It’s possible to GAIN weight during the journey, because muscle (the fountain of youth), weighs more than fat. You can lose 5 lbs of fat and gain 3 lbs of muscle during the same time period, so don’t worry when the scale only shows a net change of 2 lbs.

Most of all, have fun! If you don’t have someone to workout with… go find someone! Time flies when you’re having fun!
